Roots of bitterness can grow in us for any number of reasons most of which involve being deeply hurt or betrayed. The problem is that once bitter roots embed themselves in our heart, they are very difficult to unearth. What’s more they surface in our lives as other toxic weeds such as anger, hatred and apathy. The only way to extract roots of bitterness is through the hard work of forgiveness. The good news is that God’s amazing grace love can cover over a multitude of sins.
