After graduating from college and abandoning a career in the medical field, Apryl moved to L.A. from Chicago as a member of a girl group called Cellareign, which soon split. As a singer who classifies herself as a mix of R&B and Pop, Apryl sought out her big break for several years, even reaching the final auditions for American Idol, cat Dolls, and Making The Band. She met her boyfriend, Omarion, through their mutual fitness trainer and the two began a relationship as friends. Apryl also occasionally performed as a background singer on his tours.
