Nutrition plays a bigger role in building strength than many people realize.
You can have a well-designed strength program, but you still need to give your body enough resources to train, recover, and adapt.
In this episode of The Black Lion Blueprint, I break down four nutrition habits I wish I had understood earlier:
1. Eat Enough Protein
Protein provides your body with the building blocks it needs to recover and adapt to strength training. I also explain a simple starting point for estimating how much protein you need without obsessively tracking everything you eat.
2. Eat Enough Food
Strength training requires energy. If you consistently feel like you can't push during your workouts, struggle to recover, or feel drained between sessions, your overall food intake may be something worth looking at.
3. Eat Mostly Minimally Processed Foods
You don't need to completely eliminate processed foods. Instead, focus on gradually replacing highly processed foods with foods closer to their original form.
4. Choose Consistency Over Perfection
You don't need the perfect diet, perfect meal timing, or perfect food choices. Start with one manageable change, practice it consistently, and build from there.
