After 1 1/2 weeks of adopting Brea Jones (the Story-Telling intern from the Wolfsonian) we learned so much and wrapped up our time together by using Brea's journalism skills to interview one of our Honors students about the Black experience.
Brea interviews Caldwell Harris, an INCREDIBLE student who was recently featured on FIU news for her discussion on "the talk" black families have with their children about racism. Caldwell is an International Business/Marketing major and currently the Marketing Assistant at the FIU Frost Art Museum!
On this episode Brea and Caldwell discuss the Black experience during this hectic summer, how FIU can respond better in the future to issues facing our Black students, resources to learn about the Black/Brown experience in America, the impact of the youth vote in the 2020 elections, change that young people will be fighting for in 2021, and MORE!
(The views and opinions expressed in every episode of "More Than a Major" belong to the guest speaker of the episode and do not necessarily reflect the official policy of FIU. Topics and opinions discussed in this podcast are meant to bring light to new ideas and give our guests a platform to reflect on their opinions for the sake of education and exploration.)
