In this last part of chapter 1, the author gets deeper into the brainwashing of the black man that she takes place in a 50 year critical time of this development. From 1940 to 1990 the blackman was molded by falsehood. He was made to be fearful of dark things such as the boogeyman and ghosts. He would then be taught to celebrate them by dressing up as them on Halloween.
