It's simply harder and more expensive to do business in Massachusetts, and that's one of the main reasons George Shoemaker is now moving his entire operation to Sarasota, Florida. Currency Coffee originated in Dalton Massachusetts with the nod to town's Crane Paper currency-making fame. In spite of success in distributing to a wide array of businesses and restaurants, and more recently, a hugely success cafe in the lower level of the Allendale Shopping Center - George has decided to leave for sunnier skies. We unpack the decision and the future of his business.
