When I was a young boy, my family and I were always impressed by a friend of our family named Catalina. She was an amazing woman in Argentina who had five children. She was totally blind and yet, whenever her children came up to hug her, she greeted each of them by name. She could tell who was who by how they walked, shut the door, or the sound of their voices.

This image has stuck with me as a metaphor for us and God. The mother never saw her children, but she knew them all by name. We have never seen God. And yet, we know God is there because of His Word, and His truth, and the Holy Spirit in our lives. The Bible compares the Spirit of God to the wind.  You can’t see the wind, but you can certainly see or feel its effect.

The Bible says in 1 Peter 1:8-9, “Though you have not seen Him, you love Him. Though you do not now see Him, you believe in Him and rejoice with joy that is inexpressible and filled with glory, obtaining the outcome of your faith, the salvation of your souls.” I encourage you to press onward in following God. And show others in your life the love, mercy, and grace of God by how you live, as well as how you talk. This is Luis Palau.
