Chris gives you a basic overview of the main events that took place immediately before, and during the December 7th attack on Pearl Harbor, Hawaii in 1941. This attack is what compelled the U.S. to declare war on Japan and the rest of the Axis nations, and sealed the defeat of Japan and its allies in World War 2. By thinking about how many warning signs there were leading up to the Japanese assault, we can learn how far people will go to convince themselves that everything's okay when their killer is quickly approaching to deal a deadly blow.
This story illustrates the truth of Proverbs 22:3, which says,
"The prudent sees danger and hides himself,
but the simple go on and suffer for it." (ESV)
Be encouraged by this story to avoid letting arrogance, laziness, complacency, or distractedness lead to the destruction of your joy, or even your very soul.
