In a richly rewarding novel filled with unforgettable characters, number-one New York Times best-selling author Fern Michaels explores the enduring bonds of family as one man loses everything - only to find the freedom to create a bold new life.
Gus Hollister owes all his success to his feisty grandmother, Rose, and he knows it. It was Rose and her two sisters, Iris and Violet, who raised Gus, sent him to the best schools, and helped him start his own accounting business. Rose even bought the house Gus lives in with his wife, Elaine.
But now, Gus stands to lose everything - his home, his car, and his business. Worse, hes alienated his beloved grandma, who tried to warn him about Elaines greedy, gold-digging ways. Gus, blinded by infatuation, refused to listen, and now Elaine has locked him out of the house he was foolish enough to put in her name.
Heartsick and remorseful, Gus returns to Roses Virginia farmhouse seeking shelter. But it wont be easy to make amends. Despite their pretty floral names, theres nothing delicate about the Blossom sisters. Unbeknownst to Gus, theyve also been running a very lucrative business from home and dont want interference. Yet family and forgiveness go hand in hand, and Gus isnt giving up.
With the help of close friends, new associates, and some very sprightly ladies, Gus begins to repair the damage hes done and help the residents of Blossom Farm begin the next phase of their business. He might even be finding the courage to love again. Because no matter how daunting starting over can be, the results can surpass your wildest expectations - especially when the Blossom sisters are in your corner.

Somewhat Disappointing from a Fern Michael's fan
I should start off by saying that I am a big Fern Michaels fan and have read many of her books. I found this book to be a big disappointment. When I read it, it seemed there were so many details left out, it made me wonder if the book as submitted by Fern was poor and they had to edit/cut huge sections out. There are so many areas where details are missing and I felt like a huge chunk of the book was missing. For example, when Barney decides he must return home, there is no reason why and no experience or event that would have this sudden decision make sense.
Even more perplexing is that the exwife is dealt with by the author stating the ex wife married a Matoff wannabe and ended up having many problems. However, this is stated in one simple sentence with no following of her life or her experiences. The beginning of the book follows these experiences so this statement seems like a rip off because we have no real knowledge of her life and how it ended u this way. nogtehr is sue is that the exwife suddenly sends a text to Gus telling him he can have the house and she will leave the key for him. We do know that she had some issues with her attorney, but this is such a huge switch from her hard driving goal to get control of Gus' assets that it seems like a cheap solution to a problem the author created and then could not resolve for the reader.
Also, the ending chapter seems to come after a 2 yr period of time has elapsed and is very unsatisfying because we are not made aware of any of the details of the romance between Gus and Jill and how it evolves.
