The Body of Christ is one living reality for the New Testament church. In this lesson we trace three threads that belong together in Scripture. First, the Word became flesh so our hope rests on the real birth, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ. Second, at the Lord’s Supper we remember His covenant, we proclaim His death, and we participate together in the one bread and one cup as a weekly practice on the first day of the week according to the apostolic pattern in Acts 20:7. Third, as members of one body we pursue unity, reconciliation, and service so that every part does its share.
