In this episode, we’re talking about what happens after the diagnosis, when you finally have a treatment plan in place and start preparing for what comes next.
From meeting with oncology teams and making overwhelming decisions to navigating clinical trials, cold capping, insurance, and mental health, there is SO much to consider before your first day of treatment.
We’re sharing what those weeks looked like for each of us, the decisions we made along the way, and the reality that even when you think you have everything planned out, cancer has a way of throwing your schedule right out the window.
We’re also talking about the importance of advocating for yourself, finding a community of people who truly understand what you’re going through, and taking advantage of the incredible resources and support available to breast cancer patients and their families.
And one reminder we want to leave you with: You have a voice in your care. Ask questions, explore your options, and remember that you can change your mind along the way.

Welcome back to The Boobie Breakdown!
In Episode 3, we’re talking about one of the hardest parts of a cancer diagnosis: telling the people in your life that you have cancer. How do you even begin to share news that you're still trying to process yourself?
We’re Bre + Emily, two triple negative breast cancer survivors who were both diagnosed with Stage 2B breast cancer at different points in our lives. In this episode, we’re sharing what it was like to navigate those emotional conversations with our families, friends, loved ones, coworkers, and clients.
We're talking about the different reactions we experienced, the emotional weight of having to share the news over and over again, and how challenging it can be to manage other people's emotions while trying to understand your own.
We’re also diving into another reality of being diagnosed with cancer at a young age: fertility preservation. Before treatment even begins, young adults may be faced with overwhelming decisions about their reproductive futures. Breanna shares what the beginning steps of her fertility journeys entailed and what it felt like to make such personal, life changing decisions in the middle of an already overwhelming diagnosis.
And one reminder we want you to take away: there is no perfect way to tell people you have cancer, and you deserve the space to process your own emotions, too.

Welcome back to The Boobie Breakdown!
In Episode 2, we’re taking it back to where our breast cancer stories began: finding the lump, getting the scans, hearing the words “you have cancer,” and navigating the overwhelming weeks that followed.
We’re Bre + Emily, two triple negative breast cancer survivors who were both diagnosed with Stage 2B breast cancer at different points in our lives. In this episode, we’re sharing our diagnosis stories and the moments we knew something wasn’t right.
We’re also talking about what we call “Hell Week,” the time between finding out you have cancer and actually having a treatment plan in place. It’s filled with appointments, scans, biopsies, phone calls, waiting, uncertainty, anxiety, and SO many unknowns.
We break down what that time looked like for each of us, how quickly life changed, the importance of advocating for yourself, and some of the things that helped us navigate those first overwhelming weeks.
If you’re currently waiting for answers, newly diagnosed, or supporting someone who is, we hope this episode helps you feel a little less alone.
And one reminder we’ll probably say more than once around here: know your body, pay attention when something feels different, and advocate for yourself. 💗
