The early Christian church is multiplying at every moment.
But as it grows, so does the opposition.

The high priests and their officials rise against the apostles, who continue to teach and preach that Jesus is the Messiah. As a result, the apostles are arrested… freed by angels… arrested again… and flogged in the end. Yet still, they rejoice in the Lord—and refuse to stop teaching about Jesus Christ.

But not all conflict comes from the outside.

Other issues spring forth within the church community: Ananias and his wife, Sapphira, lie to the Holy Spirit—resulting in their immediate deaths. Hebrew and Jewish believers cannot see eye to eye on the care of widows. And the apostles simply do not have the manpower to handle it all.

As seven new leaders are appointed, one man rises—Stephen.

And his faith will cost him everything… as he is arrested and killed by the priests, who refuse to take accountability for their wicked actions.

Verse of the Day: Isaiah 25:1

O Lord, I will honor and praise your name, for you are my God. You do such wonderful things! You planned them long ago, and now you have accomplished them.
