The same principle applies today as believers often create dividing walls over worship styles, politics, and cultural differences. Jesus calls us beyond casual Christianity to deep community where we find our primary identity in Him rather than our differences. When Christ becomes our cornerstone, the walls separating believers crumble, allowing God's presence to dwell fully in the unified community He died to create.
