The destructive power of pride is on full display in the book of Obadiah. The prideful Edomites are the mortal enemy of God's chosen people and are singled out for destruction as God brings them down for their cruelty. Edom is no longer a place, it is a character, a distinctive disdain for God's chosen people. It is still part of our world so Obdiahs warning is still relevant today. The prideful arrogance to take a life when it is at its most vulerable will be judged by God. Doubt it, ask the Edomites. This is not a test, its the real thing. To God be the Glory.
