The Power Of God For Salvation
The sermon covers Romans 1:7-17 and focuses on Paul's declaration of the power of the Gospel and his pride in it. He says that he is "not ashamed" of the Gospel.
Main Point: The Gospel is the power of God for salvation to all who believe!
In Paul’s letter to the Romans, he aims to clearly and comprehensively explain the glorious Gospel of Jesus Christ. This Gospel is, “the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes,” (Romans 1:16). At the very heart of this message is the Truth that we are all – every one of us – guilty sinners, deserving of God’s judgment and wrath; but that Jesus Christ has been presented as the Offering for our sins, to bear the wrath of God and die in our place. Therefore, we are made innocent and right with God, by faith in His Son, who is the Gift of God’s grace for guilty sinners (Romans 3:24). Now, all who place their faith in Him are no longer guilty, but Justified! In this series, we will seek to unpack this deep and wonderful Truth at the heart of the Gospel, and all of its implications for our lives, today.
