Tonight we are going to get to know an emcee and talk about his latest album. The emcee? One of the greater emcees of the past two decades. An emcee who has an artistic eye, has been literally battled tested, and has recently released one of the best albums of the year. This album deals with a variety of issues and showcases its creator as the top tier lyricist he is. Who? Reef the Lost Cauze!

Our guest tonight wrote her first play at 7 years old! She is a writer, a singer, an emcee, a beat maker, She can do it all. She can even freestyle about a misplaced shoe in front of an audience and KRS-One! She is prolific with words and her beautiful reputation precedes her. Let’s get to know her now! Please join me as we welcome to the boom bap chat.. Prowess The Testament!
Our guest today is amazing. Hands down one of my favorite producers out right now. His sound is jazzy, laid back. It is like what I would imagine Digable Planets sounding like in 2024. He has recently put out an incredible piece of art called 74: Out of Time featuring a host of emcees, Awon, ill Camille, vic Spencer, pink siifu, billy woods, tha God Fahim, Fly Anakin, Cooley High and many more. It might just be my favorite jazzy production since the era of Disable Planets and De LA Soul and the Native Tongues. It is a remarkable project that we are going to jump into right now with our guest, the one and only, Ol’ Burger Beats!
Thee Phantom is one of one. It is hard to describe how amazing his Hip-Hop orchestra is! So, you might just need to listen to this interview and then check it out...
The Boom Bap Chat welcomes a new Hip-Hop titan to the show. His output recently has been nothing short of excellent. He is able to present deep, layered content in straightforward way. His music is both soulful and gritty and cuts through the saturation of music content these days. His music sticks out from most music simply because it is better than most music. During the interview Jamil shares about making amends with his father before he passed, having a near death experience being shot and mugged in front of his home, and rifts on legendary Hip-Hop albums.
Tonight on the boom bap chat we have an emcee producer duo. But they are much more than a rapper and a beat maker. They don’t just create music, they create community. Online they provide space under the banner of NOIR GRIME. Every month they host a monthly showcase called “Friday Night Get Down” at Cafe Red in Seattle. They are dedicated to building a strong music scene And we applaud them for that! So please join me as we welcome to the boom bap chat, Shubzilla and Bill Beats!
