The Borne Podcast - Series Two Episode One: Alistair Petrie

Listen Later

Welcome to The Borne Podcast, a deep dive into the world of pregnancy, birth, and beyond. Join Ellie Gibson, Caro Tasker and Professor Mark Johnson as they uncover real birth stories, provide expert insights from leading scientists, and engage in in-depth discussions exploring women’s reproductive health, the challenges of pregnancy, and the complexities of premature birth.

In this episode, Ellie, Caro and Mark are joined by the brilliant actor Alistair Petrie. Alistair and his wife Lucy had twin boys, Brodie and Cal, who were born at 30 weeks. After two and a half months in the NICU, Alistair and Lucy were able to go home with two babies, who are now healthy 22-year-olds. Alistair is an active advocate for Borne to raise awareness and funds for preterm birth. Here he speaks openly and honestly about his family's experiences. This episode contains strong language.

Borne is a medical research charity dedicated to uniting scientists and doctors in advancing our understanding of pregnancy, identifying risks of preterm birth, and developing groundbreaking treatments to prevent it.
