As impressive as Samuel's name was (it means 'heard by God' in Hebrew), even more impressive was that he himself was known as someone who listened to God.  As a child, he responded to God.  And in his ministry as a priest/prophet, he aided people in learning this vital practice.  At a time when few in the nation were listening to God, Samuel was.  How would you rate yourself and your church family at 'listening to the LORD'?
