The local TV and Radio business is very important to members of the community, and Detroit is no different. One of the legendary names in Detroit media is venerable sportscaster Ray Lane. He started his career in the 50’s after graduating from Michigan State. Talented, outspoken, and very much a character, Ray Lane was a fixture in Detroit television for 40years.
Ray was with the world champion Tigers in 68 and 84. From Ralph Houk to Mayo Smith to Sparky Anderson, he was watching it all from the front row. He was with the Red Wings and Scotty Bowman when they hoisted the Stanley Cup.
