In John 6, Jesus declares that He is the Bread of Life, a remarkable claim in light of Jewish history, including the Exodus story. What did Jesus mean by this statement and what impact should this have on our lives? This chapter also includes two passages often taken out of context by many Christians, passages regarding saving faith and God's role in our salvation. Sadly, this has led many to a distorted view of God and His expectations for our lives. By considering Jesus' teaching in John 6 in light of what He teaches in other parts of Scripture, we are inspired by the goodness of God, who provides food from heaven to those who follow His Son.
