The Breastplate of Righteousness

Listen Later

The Christian life is not a peaceful journey after salvation but an active battlefield requiring spiritual preparation and divine armor. The enemy remains passive when believers are inactive, but the moment they begin advancing God's kingdom, spiritual warfare intensifies. Paul's instructions in Ephesians 6 about putting on the full armor of God become essential for every believer who wants to make a kingdom impact. The breastplate of righteousness stands as one of the most critical pieces of spiritual armor because it protects the vital organs and covers the largest target area for enemy attacks. However, many believers make the mistake of trying to fashion their own breastplate from personal righteousness, which appears ragged, full of holes, and inadequate for real protection. This approach leads to insecurity and fear about whether their righteousness is sufficient for spiritual battles. The solution lies in understanding that we wear God's righteousness, not our own. Isaiah 59 reveals that God Himself wears righteousness as a breastplate, and through Christ, believers become the righteousness of God. This righteousness is entirely a gift, received through salvation and developed through discipleship. When believers fall, they don't lose this righteousness because it belongs to Christ, not to their performance. The Holy Spirit convicts believers of their righteous identity rather than condemning them for failures, empowering them to rise again and continue advancing in spiritual victory.🌐 Websitehttps://theshed.church📘 Facebook / theshedatprovence 📷 Instagram / theshed.church 🎵 TikTok / theshed.church 📺 YouTube / @theshedatprovence
