Amanda Dickson learned this week that the so-called "Bridge to Nowhere" actually went somewhere. It went to an island in Alaska with an airport used by 250,000 people a year. Is it possible these earmarks, monies put aside for one district or another for pet projects, sometimes called pork if you're not in favor of them, are necessary for Washington to work?
