Members Reviews:
A little slower than the earlier four books
Any additional comments?
I really enjoyed all the previous books in this series, but I feel like this one could have been better. It's probably more a matter of my personal preferences when it comes to my reading material. Spending the last half of the book reading about the tired hero and the tired heroine taking care of the baby twins they conceived the one and only time they did the deed, and Sarah's predictable rollercoaster-y "I'm so ugly, he probably won't want to touch me ever again" attitude, got old pretty fast. There was very little romance in this regency romance novel. Regardless, I'm still looking forward to the remaining two in the series - hopefully they'll be baby-free.
A free advance copy was provided to me in exchange for an honest review.
Cute but short
Another cute short book by Ridley. They are always pretty enjoyable. Here we get to see what happens when Sarah agrees to marry the Duke so her child will have a father. Not everything happens according to plan.
The audio production was a bit tinny but Stevie Zimmerman does a great job. Her voices are well done.
Stop the Wedding - The Real Groom is Alive
Where does The Brigadier's Runaway Bride rank among all the audiobooks youve listened to so far?
The audio is great and the story is well written.
What did you like best about this story?
I loved the fact that even though he was left for dead - Edmund didn't hold it against his brother or friends. They felt guilty but he was able to put it behind him
Which scene was your favorite?
After the twins are born reading about how the exhausted parents try to deal with bath time. That is probably one of the funniest things I've read.
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
After giving birth the first time they make love is a disaster. Sarah is self- conscience of the differences in her body and is worried that Edmund won't love her and her new body
Any additional comments?
This story goes into a lot of areas that usually don't come up in books include how exhausting it is to have not one but 2 babies and making love after the birth of a baby. These two people had made love and then don't see each other until almost the birth of their children. They have a lot of things to get over.
I am loving this series
Any additional comments?
Another delightful installment in the Dukes of War series. I was eagerly anticipating Sarah and Edmund's story. It was well worth the wait.I felt real sympathy for Sarah as a happy ever after for her didn't seem to be in the cards.
