The Broken Shelf 082: A Many Topics General

Remake culture in books? Will it ever happen? Have the dark taint of re-imaging already corrupted the sanctity of literature? That's only the first topic Danny and Allen cover for one of their most intriguing general episodes to date. Through the medias of music, movies, and video games, they discuss the goods and bads of remake culture and how it pertains to books and written media. Then they switch gears and talk about the opposing impacts of good and bad openings and endings. What book was so promising that the atrocious end ruined the whole experience? What introduction was so lackadaisical that the sharp turn or nuance of the theme swept them in a narrative storm of excitement. And, of course, is the ending or beginning more important? Much to discuss!
