The moniker of "Great" has been granted to many outstanding individuals throughout history but the majority of them are monarchs or leaders of their people. So what made them so great and not other individuals who have have similar or "greater" achievements? It's nearly impossible to quantify because these individuals are all victims of history. One such individual is the legendary William Marshall, a little known figure in global history but someone attached to four of the most famous English monarchs. Some would call him "The Greatest Knight". But was he? That's what Danny is here to explore. Settle in for another adventure through medieval times as Danny goes through the positives and negatives of the tome and why this is easily one of his favorite books on Medieval England and one of his favorite biographies he's read in years.
Tune in every Tuesday for a new episode of The Broken Shelf.
