The famous saying goes "Language can connect us or divide us". However, Danny has always been more concerned with the question "Where does language come from?" Born from a childhood argument he had on numerous occasions with Momma Archive, Danny put some of his college money into learning different languages (German & Japanese) and also took enough credit hours to earn a minor in linguistics. Language is a part of everyone's life, but Danny turned an obsession into knowledge. But he is no where near the master. Alongside Alexander the Tsar, Danny delves deep into what brings about the evolution of language in order to find some answers with one of America's foremost masters. Come along as the talk about language evolution, some of McWhorter's stunning points, his style, the books delivery, the book's potential audience, and then Danny gives Tsar a Japanese quiz!
Tune in every Tuesday for a new episode of The Broken Shelf.
