On occasion a beloved cult classic can become a media success story. Fifty years after it's small time run, this post-apocalyptic thriller spawned one of the most acclaimed Will Smith movies and one of Spangar's high school favorites. Breaking down all of the great things the novel does, Danny and Spangar dissect the book, compare and contrast it to the movie and relate why it took Spangar so long to finish it. And because of the book's length, they cousin'y cohorts discuss why its better to tell a story in a short, impactful length over a six hundred page beast - or even a Hollywood film.
Tune in every Tuesday for a new episode of The Broken Shelf.
