The Broken Shelf 132: Hero Tropes

They talked about villain tropes so it was only right that they took a turn at grilling the light side with a short look at dumb hero tropes. Can you truly have a good story if your protagonist does not drive the story? Well, Danny and Allen are here to look at a few of the examples that immediately prevent them from doing just that. Provided context for both positives and negatives of their given choices they construct a string of options that can please the audience but also choices that cripple other works. At the end they both discuss their least favorite trope: "Superman Syndrome" and why Disney and other media giants need to take a chance. There are even a few that slip in because it's hard not to think of other tropes in a podcast full of them. Sometimes it's just fun to make a joke of the good guy!
