For most school sucks. Especially when you have to work on something that will follow you like a nightmare for the rest of your life because it has little intrinsic value. Writing is essential in every day life. We do it all the time, and we read all the time which takes an understanding of writing to an extent because that piece was either written by someone or your comprehension of that piece may vary depending on your own level of craftsmanship. But there is one such device in literature and English that destroys that: the five paragraph essay. The nightmare of school and the bane of English, does the five paragraph essay have real value? Or, as the author of today's piece argues, is it holding back English students in the United States. While this book can be read as an analyst of the US educational system as an extension, one of the most destructive devices is the five paragraph essay, and Danny and the Tsar discuss why it not a good use of kids time by talking about their experiences and how they view education as well as using examples from the book in regards to the not well enough respected, true essay format. It's time to go back to school!
