The brothers discussed their history in anime but now it is time to more closely analyze one of their favorite genres in anime: isekai. Different dimensions, different timelines, and alternative universes have been a part of fiction for centuries. Whether it is the codex of the Norse lore, or hidden in the great western novels, the temptation to plant a series in a universe different from our own is seductive and powerful. In recent years the trend to look beyond our normal realm has grow fierce in Japan, and a much of the geek culture in Japan is defined by the genre of isekai. How did it grow so quickly? Why is it so prolific? What are some of the best series? Where do Danny and Travis differ? And what can it still offer the general audience? Come join the brothers as they discuss the future of the massive genre.
