For most readers there are usually multiple authors that you have to rush out and complete your collection for. When Danny was just finding his way through his own fantasy tastes he ran into such an author. It's been a while since he read any of her work but he was anticipating the journey that he hoped would match the same he had the first time he read her work.
He was wrong.
However, sometimes that is to be expected when you set expectations so high. On today's episode follow Danny's journey as he shares his first experience with Madam Glenda Larke, and why this particular trilogy, or at least the first book in said trilogy, was overall a disappointment. Danny argues how the characters fail, and how the incredible islander setting ended up hurting the plot. He also compares it to her first trilogy and where he thinks she lost the flare that she had previously. That said, there are still plenty of positives within and he makes sure to point those out as well. Come listen and experience the complication of expectations in literature.
