Light novels and anime are beasts, and their influence in the global market is only growing. However, as such the two mediums of entertainment can never escape the endless debate of what is better. Most times the light novel exists as the source material, but there are those rare times when the anime comes first. With that said, how much does one's perspective on the material change depending on which is consumed first? That's what the brothers Archive are here to discuss. In a half general style/review episode, Danny interviews Travis on what makes light novels so fun to read, and later they review a light novel from one of their favorite animes. Together they evaluate the importance of translation, the importance of scope and audience, and how and why it's important to stay faithful to the source material, and when it's okay to take creative liberties. Get ready for an episode full of laughs and information.
