- On July 10, Kenneth sold the family truck with a receipt signed as "Everett Thompson," a signature that Everett's father denied was his son's.
- Lydia and Kenneth's aunt had a key to the property and had supposedly received letters from Kenneth while in prison threatening to kill Lydia.
- The Thompson family home was found completely emptied, with no furniture or signs of life.
