The Brushy Valley Witch Dog

Listen Later

In 1934 stories began to circulate in the Brushy Valley section of East Tennessee, near Knoxville, of a large black dog that was taking livestock, often right in front of the farmers to whom they belonged.  This dog was different from other predators, it was said, because it was apparently unfazed by any bullets fired at it and thus was protected by magic.  Today we tell the tale of the Brushy Valley Witch Dog.
