In this episode we speak with Raine Maida, lead vocalist of multi platinum Canadian rock band Our Lady Peace.
Raine took time from their busy OLP30 tour to sit down & discuss their recent decision to reclaim their track “Whatever”, following a near 20 year hiatus from playing due to it’s association with notorious former WWE wrestler Chris Benoit.
The track has been rewritten and recorded with proceeds being donated to suicide prevention charities. Raine goes in-depth about fan stories of solidarity and salvation that led to the decision, as well as discussing his advocacy for mental health initiatives and the pressures faced by modern musicians.
OLP are currently touring North America to celebrate 30 years since the release of their debut album Naveed, and are currently writing new material for their eagerly awaited followup to 2021s “Spiritual Machines 2”
