Hypnotic Spa is the collaborative project from Maxime Robillard (Love Letters @askloveletters) and Sean Schermerhorn (DJ Sofiia @djsofiia), created with an intention to showcase the transcendent and sublime side of electronic music. The Hypnotic Spa night has been going strong for the past two years, and in recent months has sunk into a monthly residency at a new home, NYC’s Nowadays. The night invites guests to revitalize and unearth themselves through sound, against the daily whirlwind of metropolitan life. As DJs, Robillard and Schermerhorn weave sound bites, songs and a cappella vocal takes to create deep, transporting sonic collages.
