There are some things you should just keep to yourself. Stuff like your
opinions on other people’s preference of music or style. But some
things shouldn’t be kept secret. We do a wedding ceremony in front of
witnesses; in fact, it is legally required. As we look at the account
of Jesus’ burial, we’re going to see one of the first “undercover”
followers of Jesus. He shows up to help bury Jesus, and John makes a
comment about his approach to following Jesus. Are we afraid of people
finding out that we follow Jesus?
