The case centers on Walaa, her husband Mohamed, and his friend Gomaa. What appeared to be a normal marriage gradually unraveled to reveal a web of manipulation and deception. Walaa meticulously planned Mohamed’s murder, beginning an affair with Gomaa and persuading him to kill her husband. At the same time, she spread false information suggesting Mohamed was involved in illegal antiquities trading, hoping to mislead investigators and divert suspicion. Although Gomaa eventually confessed and implicated Walaa, leading to his own death sentence, there wasn’t enough solid evidence to convict her. As a result, Walaa—the apparent mastermind behind the entire plot—walked free, leaving a shocking outcome in which the orchestrator of the crime escaped legal responsibility.
