In our first episode of series 3 we chat with Andy Morris about his 2016 paper looking at plate bending following feline tibial fracture fixation. We also hear the incredible story of how his life changed after a night out on the eve of a BVOA meeting.

For the final episode of season 2 we're joined by the distinguished chair in orthopaedic surgery at the university of Missouri, Jimi Cook. Jimi co-authored the 2010 complications paper that is so often cited. We discuss that paper alongside some human field equivalents. We also chat about tightrope, shoulder instability and Jimi's current work on biological knee replacements in humans.

In this episode we're joined by BVOA chair Andy Moores :-)

Andy is a renowned specialist based in South East England. We hear about his career, discuss BVOA, and hear about Andy's experiences with the 3rd generation TATE elbow replacement system. We look at a recent paper on complications and outcomes on 80 dogs with common calcaneal tendon pathology and then discuss the condition more broadly with some top tips for tarsal arthrodesis.

For this episode we're joined by RCVS and EBVS Specialist Ellie Lederer. Ellie tells all about what it's like to work with Duncan (!), we hear about her career, discuss her approach to HIF and Emily Frapwell's paper on humeral condylar morphology. We also hear about Ellie's recent experience as a contestant on the TV show Gladiators and chat about what we as surgeons can learn from professional athletes.

Ben Walton is a RCVS specialist and also R&D director at Fusion Implants. We talk about humeral intracondylar fissures and two papers looking at Fusion's HIRS screw. We also discuss the development of anatomical plates and whether they will become more commonplace in the future.

In our final episode of the year we were joined by James Guthrie. James is a double diplomat in surgery and rehabilitation working at Fitzpatrick referrals in Surrey. We discussed his career and then reviewed our recent BVOA autumn conference, going through three of the clinical research abstracts (CRAs) in more detail.
