We come now to the third chapter of 1 Samuel where we find the well known account of Samuel’s call. We find that though Samuel was busy around the tabernacle, he did not yet know God, but God mercifully comes to Samuel and reveals Himself to him, and brings Samuel His Word. And Samuel hears of the coming judgement upon Eli and his house and also is established as a prophet of God.
