1.) Why is true compassion (meaning to "suffer with someone") so difficult for us?

2.) How does physical and emotional distance from the poor, the stranger, the widow, the fatherless, our enemies, etc. make it more difficult to even feel, let alone demonstrate compassion to them?

3.) What might it look like for our church to begin demonstrating compassion to those in need within our community?
