Bible Text: Ephesians 4:1-16 

Here is Paul’s vision for the church, which is an expression of God’s design for His church. God’s church is to display charity, unity, diversity and growing maturity. These are the characteristics of ‘a life worthy of the calling’ to which God has called us, and which the apostle begs us to lead. It is the picture of a deepening fellowship, an eagerness to maintain Christian unity and to recover if it is lost. The picture of an active every-member ministry which leads to a steady growth into maturity. It is the beautiful picture of growth towards maturity not dependent on the ministry of individual leaders but on the ministry of all, whom the leaders are to equip. We need to keep this biblical ideal clearly before us as the church enters a new season. Only then shall we live a life that is worthy of it, to the glory of God.
