The 2025 Nissan Patrol Y63 is one of the most anticipated new models that's yet to be revealed. That said, there are plenty of clues as to what the seventh-generation upper-large SUV has in store for buyers and fans alike thanks to the mechanically Infiniti QX80 that made its debut in April 2024.
To that end, the big news is what is, or rather isn't, under the bonnet: a 5.6-litre naturally aspirated petrol V8 engine. Instead, in a sign of the times, a 3.5-litre twin-turbo V6 takes its place, albeit upping power from 298kW to 336kW, and torque from 560Nm to 698Nm. The seven-speed torque-converter automatic transmissions upgrades to a nine-speed unit, too.
But, of course, there's a lot more to the new Patrol Y63 than just its powertrain. In this news video, CarsGuide Managing Editor Tim Nicholson is joined by Deputy News Editor John Law and Contributing Journalist Andrew Chesterton to discuss everything else that we know so far.
It's been a long time coming, but the Kia ute is finally nearly here. The 2025 Kia Tasman has already been named and teased in camouflage, but we're yet to officially find out all of the key details, including its engine options, pricing, release date, tech and safety, among others.
That said, in this Newscast video, CarsGuide Managing Editor Tim Nicholson, News Editor Dom Tripolone and Contributing Journalist Andrew Chesterton get together to discuss everything we know so far about the Tasman, which will rival the Ford Ranger, Toyota HiLux and Isuzu D-Max when it eventually launches next year.
Needless to say, expectations are high for the new Kia ute, with Australian executives promising that it will pull no punches, so expect it to be a very capable offering, with dual-cab pick-up and four-wheel-drive availability. But it remains to be seen if its seemingly divisive exterior design will win over fans.
The 2024 Ram Dakota is coming to rattle the Ford Ranger and hammer the Toyota HiLux, the two best-selling mid-size pick-ups in Australia. That's right, the American brand best known for the larger-than-life Ram 1500 ute, is cooking up an all-new model that it hopes will dominate the sales charts.
But just what does the new Dakota have up its proverbial sleeve? Well, it's looking good for potential buyers, as a battery-electric (EV) version is under study alongside internal-combustion (ICE) versions with either petrol or diesel power. Point being, there should be something for everyone.
That said, in this podcast special, CarsGuide's Managing Editor Tim Nicholson, News Editor Tung Nguyen and Contributing Journalist Andrew Chesterton gather to discuss exactly what's in store for the new Dakota under the bonnet, plus everything else we know so far. Spoiler alert: There's plenty to be excited about!
The eagerly anticipated 2024 Toyota LandCruiser Prado large SUV is nearly upon us. Hot on the wheels of the all-new LC300 4WD, the related next-generation 4x4 is shaping up as another huge success for the leading Japanese brand.
So, in this video, CarsGuide assembles Managing Editor Tim Nicholson, Deputy Editor James Cleary and Contributing Journalist Andrew Chesterton to unpack exactly what is on the horizon for the Prado series.
Yep, there's been plenty of reports from all across the world and we've compiled them all, ours included, to deliver a Prado preview for the ages, engines, design, pricing, timing and more included!
