On May 31, 2014, in Waukesha, Wisconsin, two 12-year-old girls, Anissa Weier and
Morgan Geyser, lured their friend Payton Leutner into a forest and stabbed her
19 times in for the great and powerful Slender Man. Not only did this lead to a
series of stabbings afterwards, but it forever defamed the once popular icon.
This is the story of the three girls, and a discussion of the way we treat
mentally ill teenagers.
