The Cash Crunch: CBN vs. The People

Listen Later

The CBN has instructed banks to open this weekend, allowing customers to deposit and withdraw money. However, people were struggling to get

their money to the bank without having an alternative source to spend it, leading to issues with cash being lost in the system and people being stranded all through the period.
The hosts Tobore and Adewunmi discuss the CBN's indecisiveness and the need to give people time to adjust, ensure the banking system is up-to-date, and make sure people are tech-savvy.
They discussed the importance of cash circulating in the country, especially for the elderly. They both suggested that the CBN should compensate the bankers. Nigerians were also encouraged to go to their banks this weekend if they need funds. It was predicted that it will take months for cash to be back in
circulation due to people's fear of suffering.
Join our hosts Adewunmi and Tobore as they discuss the cash crunch and CBN versus the people.
