HAPPY HALLOWEEN, PODLINGS!
It’s Spooky Season once again, and on Media/Lit, that means that POEmance is in the air. This year, the hosts snuggle up to the works of Edgar Allan Poe with with teacher & writer Timm Freitas, the creator of the Garden of English YouTube channel. Together, they’re just some Poe boys from some Poe families.
Before they delve into the catacombs with Montresor and Fortunato to explore Poe’s Cask of Amontillado, the guys take a look at Halloween entertainment through a dadcore lens as they explore some of their favorite ways to get into the spirit.
Then, the panel delves deep into the universal themes of Poe’s story, unpack his ability to craft complex unreliable narrators, and even step into the director’s chair to imagine how they might adapt this story for the screen.
