Daniela shares the history behind efforts to populate the French territories in early America. Women were sent on ships from the old country to serve as Christian wives of men establishing areas of New Orleans, and parts of Mississippi. Back in Europe, how women were chosen, and at what ages, makes this part of history dark and troubling. Over time, the women delivered to these areas by ship were viewed as mysterious to the locals, causing many to believe these women were supernatural beings.
