The Catcher in the Rye, by J. D. Salinger, narrated by Isaac Birchall
This chapter opens the book with Holden Caulfield writing from a rest home where he is receiving some therapy after falling ill. He describes his family, and shows how proud he is because he is not a "phony".   Holden has been kicked out of his school Pencey Prep, a seemingly common occurrence, as Pencey Prep is Holden's 3rd Prep school.  Holden holds a lot of hate towards his school, but also wants to properly say goodbye to it, and one of his favorite teachers, Mr Spencer. So he makes his way to visit his house at the bottom of the hill.
