This novel, 11 years in the making, is all about Eren, a Turkish boy who is stuck between tradition and modernity in a world full of turmoil. While growing up in Early Medieval Central Asia, he must decide how much he is willing to sacrifice for real freedom. It is not only the foreign powers that leech off the devastating Civil War, but his own kin that let it happen. Thankfully, Eren is not alone. With like-minded companions, he embarks on a journey full of adventure and excitement, and of treason and redemption alike.
Political scheming, cultural conflicts, drama, loss, but also courage,
vigilance, and hope – and the question of what makes a Türk, a true
Türk.
The Celestial Türk tackles all of these topics, and more. There
are even elements of Tengrism and Turkic Mythology hidden
here and there...
Part 1 explains the backstory of all important protagonists and antagonists and paves the path for Eren's quest to stardom.
