MAKE ART BE HAPPY · SHOW NOTES
The Chair You Won’t Sit In
Self-Worth · why you can’t rest, and the belief underneath it.
Episode description
You sit down, and within a minute you’re up again. You finally have the time, and you still can’t take it. If that’s you, this episode is about why, and it isn’t what you think.
Rest that won’t come is not a discipline problem. It’s a belief. Somewhere a long time ago you learned that your turn came last, that stopping wasn’t allowed until everyone else was handled. In this episode I tell the truth about my own version of it, the years I put my art last, the three shapes the belief took, and why my own art is on a break right now. Then I give you a way through, including two free downloads to do the work yourself.
What we get into
• Why “just rest more” never worked, and what’s actually running underneath.
• The three shapes of “I have to earn it”: a worth thing, a time thing, and a purpose thing.
• Why courses and workshops felt safe, and the free afternoon that never came.
• The honest part: why I separated my art from my business, and let it take a break.
• Hand-me-down thoughts, the ones you wear until you spot they don’t fit.
• You can’t control the first thought. You’re responsible for the second and the third.
• Your real listener questions, answered.
